Why This Role Exists
The global automotive sector is undergoing a fundamental shift towards electrification. LINQ's EV Vertical requires dedicated research capacity to track, analyse, and translate this transition into actionable intelligence for senior decision-makers. This role exists to build and maintain the research engine that powers our EV-focused advisory and conference output.
Role Overview
As a Market Research Associate within our EV Vertical, you will contribute original insights on how the automotive industry is transitioning towards electrification. You will develop the skills and analytical depth to become a future star analyst, working with cutting-edge data, industry publications, and senior stakeholders across the global EV ecosystem.
This is a career-building role for someone who wants to grow into a specialist research position at the intersection of engineering knowledge and market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive primary and secondary research for the Electrical Vehicle (EV) Vertical within the Automotive Sector
- Develop and maintain data to support client acquisition strategies and market intelligence reports
- Author original work including conference papers, technical reports, and white papers (full training provided)
- Review academic publications, industry papers, and technical standards relevant to the EV ecosystem
- Understand client objectives and build databases and structured research reports accordingly
- Participate in collective brainstorming sessions and contribute to developing new research frameworks
- Organise and prioritise tasks to meet project timelines while managing multiple allocated projects simultaneously
- Review and provide feedback on company director white papers with full training and support provided
Qualifications & Knowledge Required
Educational Background
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Background in intelligent electrification, control systems, machines and drives, power electronics, or electric vehicles preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Experience in research related to control and optimisation of electric machines, power electronics, or electric vehicle systems
- Knowledge of industry and technical standards within the EV or broader Automotive Sector
- Proficiency in Grid System Operations, including state board grid systems or private sector equivalents
- Understanding of EV charging station infrastructure requirements (advantageous)
- Familiarity with direct electric drive control systems
Skills Required
- Strong research acumen with the ability to review and synthesise academic publications and technical papers
- Proficient in Google Workspace, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), LinkedIn, and online research tools
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent internet research and data verification skills
- Strong data handling, organisational, and reporting skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and apply new concepts effectively
- Adaptable to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and evolving research requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Vadodara, Gujarat before starting work
