Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Market Analyst conducts focused market research and analysis, delivering in-depth insights to support BV's strategic decision-making. This role specializes in gathering and interpreting complex data, leading specific research projects, and collaborating across teams to align findings with organizational goals. The Market Analyst contributes to the team's success by applying specialized research methodologies. The Market Analyst performs the job in the framework of the BV Absolutes, the Code of Ethics, BV Group policies and the BV Quality Assurance System.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform market research studies independently, from kick-off calls, final delivery to review discussions.
  • Conduct focused market research and competitive intelligence studies across different BV product lines including but not limited to Building & Infrastructure, Sustainability, Cybersecurity, and Certification, etc.
  • Develop structured market studies including market sizing, growth forecasts, competitive benchmarking, trend analysis, and M&A targeting, etc.
  • Analyze complex qualitative and quantitative datasets to generate clear, actionable, and insightdriven market intelligence outputs.
  • Translate the research findings into high-impact executive presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver top quality research reports in timely manner and effectively present them to the internal stakeholders.
  • Leverage digital tools (e.g., AIenabled market research tools) for faster data discovery, synthesis and automated news alerts to monitor relevant industry and competitor developments, regulatory changes, and technology trends. However, authenticity of data outputs must be validated.
  • Collaborate with Global Market Intelligence (GMI) team members and Regional Analysts in executing large global / regional or multisector research assignments, knowledge sharing / best practices sessions.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in market research, market intelligence, consulting, strategy, or related analytical roles.
  • Handson experience in conducting secondary research, including use of paid databases, public sources. Internal expert interviews need to be conducted on project-to-project basis.
  • Experience in an international environment to deliver global or multiregional market studies is an asset.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is an advantage.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Expertise in market research methodologies (TAM/SAM/SOM, PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces, value chain analysis, competitor benchmarking, etc.).
  • Handson experience with AI tools for market research, such as AIassisted desk research, summarization, trend detection, etc.
  • Attention to data accuracy, validation, and triangulation.
  • Familiarity with market intelligence platforms, project and company databases.
  • Working knowledge of digital tools for automating news alerts to monitor relevant industry and competitor developments, regulatory changes, and technology trends is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or other BI/reportingplatforms is an advantage.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work location is Andheri (Western Mumbai).
  • Working mode: Office-based.

CRITERIA FOR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION (KPIS)

  • Reporting manager's (N+1) initial feedback on the deliverables.
  • Time to respond and adherence to the committed timelines.
  • Quality of delivery in line with the deliverable guidelines and expectations of stakeholders.
  • Stakeholders feedback on analyses, reports and communication.
