As we continue to develop Marine & Offshore activities, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join our organisation as Marine Surveyor - Plan Approval for Electrical, Automation & Fire Safety operations. Position is located within our Mumbai office in India and you will be welcomed in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Position Scope
- Review vessel's electrical arrangements, automation systems, fire detection and alarm systems, communication systems, equipment, calculations, and associated documentation for compliance with applicable Classification Rules and Statutory Regulations.
- Prepare technical review findings and recommendations as part of the plan approval process.
- Liaise with clients, manufacturers, surveyors, and internal M&O departments throughout the plan approval process, providing technical guidance and support related to machinery systems and regulatory compliance.
- Resolve technical issues related to design requirements, applicable standards, and Rule interpretation.
- Participate in the preparation of commercial proposals for plan approval activities related to new buildings, conversions, ships in service, and equipment.
- Maintain and continuously develop technical knowledge and professional judgment in relevant engineering disciplines.
Position Requirements
- BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electro-Technical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good knowledge of Classification Rules and relevant international maritime regulations.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in electrical, automation and/or fire safety plan approval, ship electrical design, shipbuilding, or a related marine engineering field.
- Knowledge of power generation and distribution systems, emergency electrical systems, automation and control systems, fire detection and alarm systems, communication systems, and electrical equipment used onboard vessels.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
