Job Description

Purpose of the role

The Marine Quality Assurance Analyst supports the global audit team by providing robust data and operational insights that enable value-adding internal audits across Svitzer. The role also contributes to global post-incident review (PIR) processes through data management, timeline development, evidence analysis, and report preparation.

In addition, the Analyst acts as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) business partner to regional teams, ensuring documentation accuracy, statistical analysis, and data integrity.

This position plays an important part in the success of the Mumbai-based Marine Standards team, delivering high-quality outputs aligned with Svitzer's global standards and objectives.

General Area of Responsibility

  • Extract, analyse and provide data to the global audit team using internal platforms such as HMS, Insight, Sertica, etc.
  • Support regional and global PIR coordinators with relevant analytics and documentation.
  • Produce analytical reports as directed by the QHSSE Manager.
  • Contribute to the quality assurance framework and continual improvement of the Svitzer Management System.

Specific Area of Responsibility

Audit Support

  • Act as key support to global auditors, providing pre-audit insights from internal systems.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for global auditors for queries and clarifications.
  • Manage audit administration tasks, including formatting, uploading, and documentation.
  • Post-audit: analyse data trends and compile regional/global insight reports.

Incident Review

  • Assist in data collection, sorting, and tagging for global PIR activities as guided by the Global Quality Lead.
  • Develop incident timelines and support the drafting and formatting of PIR reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used in PIR reviews.

Management System Quality Assurance

  • Maintain and review content within the Svitzer Management System to ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance.
  • Recommend system improvements to enhance quality and usability.
  • Drive automation, synergy, and efficiency across areas under own control.

Team Contribution

  • Deliver work assignments within the Mumbai Marine Standards team, meeting quality and time expectations.
  • Contribute to team goals through proactive engagement and support, including acting as back-up for a variety of team tasks when needed.

Required Preferred Education &Experience

  • Marine technical education or maritime operational background.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quality or HSE management system roles (preferred).
  • Proficient in using IT systems for data management and analysis (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI).

Training & Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of Quality and Safety Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in drafting incident reports and familiarity with formal review procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, and time management skills.
  • Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning.
  • Collaborative attitude and adaptability to take on new responsibilities.

Travel requirement

  • Up to 10 days in a year globally.
