Role Description The Marine / Industrial Automation Engineer (PLC Programmer) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC-based automation systems for marine and industrial applications. The engineer will interpret technical specifications, prepare control logic, configure field devices, and troubleshoot automation systems during installation and maintenance. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with project teams, supporting integration of automation solutions with existing systems, preparing documentation, and providing technical guidance to operations and service personnel. The role also requires occasional on-board or on-site visits to client facilities to ensure reliable performance and safe operation of automated systems.
Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in Marine Operations and Maritime environments relevant to vessel or offshore automation systems.
  • Background or exposure to Navy or defense-related marine systems is an added advantage.
  • Experience with Boat systems, marine equipment, or shipboard control systems.
  • Ability to deliver Training on automation systems to operators, technicians, and client teams.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and industrial control systems (SCADA, HMI).
  • Understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles, industrial communication protocols, and safety standards.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on-site and on-board in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to document technical work clearly.
