Job Title: MariaDB Database Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced MariaDB Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support critical database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both relational and NoSQL databases, with hands-on experience in production environments.

You will collaborate closely with development and SRE teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, administer, and monitor database environments (MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle)
  
• Manage production and non-production database clusters
  
• Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
  
• Ensure database security, backup, and recovery processes
  
• Collaborate with developers to debug and optimize queries
  
• Support data storage and reporting systems for customers
  
• Implement automation using Python and Shell scripting
  
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement of database infrastructure
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have

• 6+ years of overall IT experience with 4+ years in DBA roles
  
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  
• MongoDB
  
• MariaDB / MySQL
  
• Exposure to Oracle / PostgreSQL / Cassandra
  
• Expertise in NoSQL database design, deployment, and tuning
  
• Strong understanding of SQL & NoSQL ecosystems
  
• 
  
• Experience in Linux environments and network basics
  
• Proficiency in scripting:
  
• Python
  
• Shell scripting
  
• (Perl is a plus)
  
• Strong query optimization and troubleshooting skills
  

Good to Have

• Experience with ElasticSearch and Redis
  
• Exposure to automation and DevOps practices
  
• Experience working in high-availability production environments
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
