As an Associate in Collateral Operations within Derivative Operations (CIB), you will lead margin call management, drive adherence to evolving regulatory requirements, and deliver cross line-of-business metrics and initiatives. You will support a continuous improvement culture across Back Office, Middle Office, and global teams by partnering closely with Operations and Technology stakeholders. You will contribute to resilient day-to-day execution while advancing strategic automation, control enhancements, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage collateral disputes through timely investigation, stakeholder engagement, and resolution.
- Execute daily margin exchanges with same-day settlement, exception management, and escalation as needed.
- Perform supervisory controls to monitor collateral exposure and ensure strong governance.
- Supervise MTM breaks, including data quality remediation and coordination with Middle Office, Credit Risk, and VCG partners.
- Drive upstream root-cause fixes to minimize recurring breaks and reduce operational risk.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., CFTC, EMIR, NCMR) through disciplined execution and audit-ready controls.
- Lead UAT oversight and strategic automation/projects, providing structured updates to senior management on BAU and delivery progress.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- CA/MBA with 6 years of operations experience, or Graduate/Post-Graduate with 8 years of operations experience
- Investment Banking operations knowledge, including OTC products, processes, and system understanding familiarity with global bank operational and reporting environments
- Strategic, detail-oriented execution capability across BAU and project delivery with a hands-on approach to problem solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, Project) and ability to operate under tight deadlines with flexibility for global hours/travel
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- Working knowledge of CFTC, EMIR, and NCMR regulatory requirements
- Experience in OTC confirmations processes
- Experience in collateral management and reconciliation platforms
- Exposure to strategic automation initiatives within operations environments
