Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer in a 300mm semiconductor fab, you will develop and enhance factory information systems, leveraging MES and coding skills (e.g., Python) to optimize wafer flow and equipment performance. Your role includes managing Work-In-Progress (WIP) across complex process steps, monitoring Queue Time (Qtime) to ensure wafers meet critical timing requirements and analyzing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to improve tool utilization and yield. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to deploy automation, integrate commercial FA solutions (FDC, OCAP, APC, SiView), and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency.

• Collaborate with IT and automation teams to define system architecture and data flow for manufacturing systems.
• Design, develop, and deploy factory reporting tools and equipment management dashboards for real-time decision-making support.
• Lead the integration of MES with factory equipment, data collection platforms, and other enterprise systems.
• Define automation requirements and translate operational needs into functional specifications for software and system development.
• Drive implementation of automation solutions to enhance factory throughput, yield, and equipment utilization.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for factory automation solutions, leveraging advanced features to drive high yield.
• Deploy AI/ML techniques to enhance both module performance and overall manufacturing systems.
• Develop acceptance criteria and testing methodologies to validate the accuracy, reliability, and performance of manufacturing systems.
• Conduct system audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with IT, process engineering, and equipment teams.
• Act as the technical liaison between manufacturing, IT, and engineering departments.
• Lead cross-functional projects to implement new system capabilities and enhancements.
• Provide training and documentation to ensure effective system adoption and usage.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical teams in the execution of strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science/ electrical engineering/ industrial engineering from IIT/NIT
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and delivering complex system solutions.
• Experience with MES, equipment integration, data acquisition, and factory control systems.
• Basic understanding of programming/scripting skills in SQL, Python, JavaScript, and familiarity with databases and APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Desired Experience Level

2-4 years of experience in factory automation or software development in semiconductor fab.
