About the role:
The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for executing production batches as per defined formulations and process parameters while ensuring adherence to food safety, quality, and operational standards. The role involves handling manufacturing equipment, maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring accurate batch documentation, and supporting consistent product quality. The role is also responsible for accurate raw material picking, weighing, and batch RM preparation as per defined formulations and production plans. The role ensures strict adherence to batch traceability, inventory accuracy, and food safety standards while supporting uninterrupted production operations.
Job responsibilities:
Raw Material Picking & Compounding
- Pick raw materials (RM) and packaging materials (PM) as per BOM and production requirements.
- Ensure correct material lot numbers are selected to maintain full batch traceability.
- Perform compounding activities strictly as per formulation and process instructions.
- Ensure availability of required raw materials before batch start as per BOM and production plan.
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
- Stage materials in advance to avoid delays in batch execution.
- Ensure proper segregation and identification of materials to avoid mix-ups.
Raw Material Picking & Compounding
- Perform accurate and real-time data entry in ERP for material issuance, consumption, and batch records.
- Ensure proper system transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Report any discrepancies in stock, batch records, or ERP entries to shift officer.
Weighing & Calibration Control
- Accurately weigh materials as per batch requirements and defined tolerances.
- Ensure weighing scales are calibrated and within validity before use.
- Report any deviation, malfunction, or abnormality in weighing equipment immediately.
Machine Operation & Basic Maintenance
- Operate manufacturing machines and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Ensure equipment cleanliness, calibration status, and readiness before batch start.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance checks.
- Report breakdowns or technical issues to maintenance team promptly.
Quality Control & CCP Monitoring
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) during production.
- Ensure consistency in batch quality and adherence to specifications.
- Report any deviations impacting product quality immediately.
- Support QA team during in-process checks and inspections.
Batch Execution & Process Control
- Execute batch manufacturing strictly as per approved Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR), BOM, and production plan.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing activities.
- Ensure correct sequencing of raw materials and adherence to process parameters.
- Minimize process deviations and report any abnormalities immediately.
ERP & Production Entries
- Perform real-time production entries in ERP system (e.g., batch start/end, consumption, output).
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry to maintain system integrity.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, internal QA guidelines).
- Avoid cross-contamination and ensure proper handling of allergen-sensitive materials.
- Maintain strict adherence to GMP and GHP.
- Ensure personal hygiene, area cleanliness, and equipment sanitation.
Qualifications and Experience
- ITI / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline.
- 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the food or FMCG industry, is desirable but not mandatory.
- Freshers with relevant technical background can also be considered
