Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Technology Consultant with deep expertise in IT-OT integration, industrial automation, and digital transformation for an ongoing engagement in the pharmaceutical sector. You will support a global consulting firm's client in advancing digital and technology capabilities across manufacturing and quality functions, with a focus on intelligent manufacturing, data architecture, and AI-driven use cases to unlock operational efficiency and compliance.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Drive implementation and optimisation of manufacturing IT-OT systems, including MES, Historian, OPC (Kepware or equivalent), and non-OPC connectivity.
  • Advise on and enhance shopfloor technologies such as SCADA, PLC, DCS, robotics, and edge computing frameworks.
  • Support deployment and integration of quality systems including LIMS, QMS, DMS, and lab instrumentation connectivity (e.g., HPLC, Chromeleon).
  • Identify and implement digital and AI-driven use cases across manufacturing and quality to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Define and enable manufacturing data architecture, including IoT core/stream, time-series databases, and ISA-95 aligned systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across business, IT, and operations to drive execution across multiple manufacturing sites.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8-15 years of experience in manufacturing technology, digital transformation, or industrial automation.
  • Strong expertise in IT-OT integration, MES, Historian systems, and industrial connectivity protocols (OPC/non-OPC).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing technologies such as e-BMR, e-logbook, SCADA, PLC, DCS, and edge computing.
  • Experience working with quality systems such as LIMS, QMS, DMS, and lab equipment integration.
  • Proven track record in implementing digital/AI use cases within manufacturing or quality environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing data architecture (IoT, time-series databases, ISA-95, UNS).
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical sector preferred; candidates from chemicals or consumer goods may also be considered.
  • Familiarity with GxP regulations and their implications in manufacturing environments.

Other Information:

This is a full-time, 12-month engagement supporting an ongoing project in the pharmaceutical sector. The role will require travel across multiple locations, including Ahmedabad, with on-site presence expected in Ahmedabad as part of the engagement.
