Senior Manual QA Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Manual QA Engineer with strong expertise in testing mobile and web applications, excellent product thinking, and the ability to take ownership of quality across the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is not just a tester but a quality advocate who works closely with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure we ship exceptional customer experiences.
Leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior QA engineers is essential. Experience with automation is a strong plus.
Quality Ownership
Own end-to-end quality for multiple product modules across mobile and web platforms.
Translate product requirements into clear, comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Identify gaps in requirements, edge cases, and potential user experience issues using strong product sense.
Manual Testing
Perform functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, smoke, exploratory, and compatibility testing.
Test across a wide range of devices, operating systems, browsers, and screen sizes.
Validate API responses using tools such as Postman (optional but preferred)
Bug Tracking & Reporting
Use Jira (and other bug-tracking tools) to create clear, well-documented bug reports.
Ensure defects are prioritized correctly and follow through until closure.
Work closely with engineering to reproduce, debug, and validate fixes.
Process & Quality Leadership
Mentor junior QA team members and establish QA best practices.
Contribute to building scalable QA processes, frameworks, and documentation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and developers to raise the quality bar.
Drive QA planning in sprints, participate in grooming, and challenge requirements where needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Represent QA perspective in product discussions, release planning, and architecture reviews.
Work closely with customer support and product teams to validate reported issues and drive improvements.
Core Technical Skills
710 years of hands-on manual testing experience across mobile apps (iOS/Android) and web applications.
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Excellent product thinking ability to understand user journeys deeply and anticipate potential issues.
Ability to write high-quality test cases, test scenarios, and documentation.
Strong knowledge of bug tracking tools Jira is mandatory.
Solid experience testing UI/UX, APIs (preferred), and end-to-end product flows.
Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Leadership & Communication
Experience mentoring juniors, conducting peer reviews, and leading small QA projects or tracks.
Strong communication skills ability to articulate issues, risks, and quality insights clearly.
Able to influence product and engineering decisions around quality.
Nice-to-Have (Big Plus)
Experience with automation testing (Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
Experience working with real-user monitoring tools, analytics, or crash-reporting tools (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry).
Basic understanding of SQL for data validation.
Experience in performance or security testing (optional).
