Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Manual Jewellery Designer with strong expertise in diamond and gold jewellery design, specializing in hand sketching and CorelDRAW. The role requires creating precise manual sketches and converting them into production-ready CorelDRAW layouts while coordinating closely with CAD, merchandising, and production teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of jewellery construction, stone layouts, and export-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manual & Digital Jewellery Design
- Create high-precision hand sketches for diamond and gold jewellery.
- Develop detailed CorelDRAW design sheets for product development.
- Translate design briefs into creative, technically accurate concepts.
- Prepare multiple views, measurements, and proportion-correct layouts.
CAD Coordination & Technical Accuracy
- Work closely with CAD designers to ensure accurate conversion of manual designs.
- Review CAD outputs and provide clear, technical corrections.
- Ensure designs are manufacturing-feasible (casting, stone setting, finishing).
Product Development & Sampling Support
- Support development of new collections, themes, and market-specific designs.
- Coordinate with merchandising and production teams for sampling and approvals.
- Maintain updated design files, version control, and documentation.
Quality, Feasibility & Detailing
- Deliver production-ready designs with correct measurements and tolerances.
- Ensure accuracy in prong setting, channel setting, micro-pav, and other techniques.
- Follow brand guidelines and export-quality finishing standards.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Skills
- 58 years of experience in Manual Jewellery Design + CorelDRAW (mandatory).
- Strong hand-sketching skills with correct jewellery proportions and stone layouts.
- Proficiency in CorelDRAW specifically for jewellery design (not graphic design).
- Ability to understand CAD files, jewellery components, and construction methods.
- Strong aesthetic sense with commercial design understanding.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in technical design documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lab-grown diamond (LGD) jewellery or export-focused collections.
- Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes: casting, stone setting, finishing.
- Strong portfolio showcasing manual sketches and CorelDRAW designs.
- Education from institutes such as NIFT, IIGJ, JD Institute, SNDT, GIA (preferred, not mandatory).
