World Transport Overseas is expanding its global presence and is preparing the launch and development of its operations in India. We are looking for a strong, entrepreneurial, and commercially driven Managing Director to lead this strategic market.
This is a leadership role for a person who can build, develop, and manage a full logistics organization in India, aligned with WTO Group's global standards, commercial strategy, and long-term Vision 2030.

Role Purpose
The Managing Director – India will be responsible for establishing, leading, and growing WTO's business in India. The main objective is to build a strong and profitable organization, develop local and international business, create a reliable operational structure, and position WTO as a serious logistics player in the Indian market.
The role requires a leader with strong commercial drive, solid operational knowledge, financial discipline, and the ability to build a team from the ground up.
1. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the establishment and development of WTO's operations in India.
Build and manage the local team, including sales, operations, customer service, finance, and administration.
Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the Indian market.
Identify and acquire new customers in ocean freight, air freight, road transport, project cargo, and value-added logistics services.
Develop strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, local agents, terminals, customs brokers, trucking companies, and other logistics partners.
Create business opportunities between India and WTO's existing network in Europe, Asia, North America, and other regions.
Drive sales activity and ensure active pipeline management through the company's CRM and ERP systems.
Ensure full alignment with WTO Group standards, procedures, compliance requirements, and reporting rules.
Monitor profitability by shipment, customer, trade lane, and service.
Manage pricing strategy together with the group commercial and operational teams.
Ensure strong cash flow discipline, credit control, and receivables management.
Prepare forecasts, market reports, and regular performance updates for Group Management.
Represent WTO in India in front of customers, partners, carriers, institutions, and industry organizations.
Build a company culture based on performance, responsibility, transparency, teamwork, and customer care.
2. Key Performance Indicators
Revenue growth and gross profit development.
Number of active customers.
Profitability by shipment, customer, and trade lane.
Sales pipeline activity.
Cash flow discipline and receivables control.
Operational quality and customer satisfaction.
Team development and staff retention.
Level of cooperation with the WTO global network.
Compliance with internal systems, reporting, and group procedures.
3. Candidate Profile
Minimum 10 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, NVOCC or shipping..
Proven experience in a senior commercial management role.
Strong knowledge of the Indian logistics market.
Solid experience in ocean freight and air freight as an advantage.
Strong commercial background with proven ability to generate new business.
Experience in building and managing teams.
Good understanding of finance, budgeting, profitability, and cash flow management.
Strong relationships with customers, carriers, agents, and logistics partners in India.
Experience with global ERP, CRM, or freight forwarding systems will be considered an advantage.
Fluent English is required.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a business, not only manage an existing structure.
Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
High level of personal responsibility and business integrity.
