Managing Director Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering for the build out and creation of our commercial real estate loan servicing platform. They will lead multiple teams of software engineers, database and infrastructure teams in an Agile organization. They will also work, with our executive team on ensuring that the product platform meets the highest standards for security, scalability and performance required to meet our customer's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Define and execute the technical vision and architecture for our loan servicing SaaS platform.
Establish engineering best practices, coding standards and development processes.
Ensure platform reliability, performance and security meet the demands of financial services institutions and government regulations.
Make critical technology decisions that balance innovation, scalability, security, and time-to-market.
Team Building and Management
Recruit, develop and retain world-class engineering talent.
Build and scale engineering teams.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders.
Product Development
Partner closely with Product, Data Science and business development teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Drive agile development practices and maintain high performing iteration cycles.
Own the engineering roadmap and delivery timelines.
Ensure seamless integration of ML/AI capabilities into the platform.
Platform and Infrastructure
Design and build with both single-tenant and multi-tenant capabilities in mind ensuring enterprise grade security and separation.
Implement scalable systems capable of providing high volumes of data.
Establish robust APIs and integration for 3rd party systems.
Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
15+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
Proven track record building and scaling SaaS platforms, preferably in fintech or financial services
Deep expertise in modern technology stacks (e.g., cloud platforms, microservices, APIs)
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements in financial services
Experience managing engineering teams of 20+ people
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial real estate, lending or loan servicing technology.
Background in regulated industries.
Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
