Job Description
The Manager
- Welding Engineering is responsible for executing welding engineering planning and execution activities, He is expected to oversee the welding engineering aspects of welding operations, ensuring that welding processes, procedures, and technologies meet quality, safety, and productivity standards. This role brings a technical authority and supporting Lead
- Welding Engineering in driving innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement in welding practices, Welder & Welding Procedure Qualifications as per ASME, IBR, PED and various other standards to support weld quality assurance across the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITY: 1) Conduct, Review and maintain welding engineering planning and execution activities for smoother production execution. Develop / Qualify WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) as per ASME / PED / EN / IBR etc., for different materials CS, LAS, HAS, SS. 2) Identify the welder qualification requirements and qualify the welders according to the respective construction codes like ASME / IBR / EN / TEMA / APIs etc. 3) Qualify the welding procedures, prepare and review Shop / Site / Field
- Weld Plans for each respective mfg. drawings. 4) Maintain proper logs of day-to-day activities & generate reports of weld-quality performance for the welders.Welding techniques and process expertise (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW).Relevant profile experience in welding engineering.Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Good understanding & Interpretation skills of ASME codes.Well verse with ASME/IBR and other codes for welding procedure and welder qualification requirements.Analytical and optimized weld-estimation skills.M/S office and other soft skills related to computer proficiency.Interpretation of standard weld symbols and Fabrication Drawings.WPS & PQR documenta preparation and compliance management.Weld quality inspection, NDT methods, and defect analysis.Root cause analysis and welding troubleshooting.Familiar with codes like ASME Sec.IX, Sec.I, Sec.IIC & Sec.VIII, and Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) 1950 etcCrossfunctional collaboration and stakeholder management.Problemsolving and decisionmaking.Digital literacy (MS Office, welding monitoring tools).Good communication and interpersonal skills.Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.Team collaboration and cross-functional coordination.Accountability and integrity in welding engineering activity executionAdaptability to resolving welding related troubleshooting.Integrity, accountability, and a mindset of continuous improvement
