Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead Viscadia's forecasting platform initiative. This is a critical role that combines technical leadership, product thinking, and people management. The individual will be responsible for designing and building our technology platform, driving our AI charter, and leading a team of engineers and analysts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with hands-on experience in platform engineering, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices. The individual should be equally comfortable writing code, designing systems, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client's needs.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Leadership
- Design, build, and manage Viscadia's forecasting platform to support consulting and analytics solutions. Drive platform scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
- Define technical architecture and make key decisions on technology stack, tools, and frameworks. Lead platform modernization initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Manage project timelines, priorities, and resource allocation. Collaborate with business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
AI Strategy and Implementation
- Lead Viscadia's AI strategy and roadmap. Prioritize high-impact AI use cases, evaluate and select appropriate tools and frameworks, and make build-vs-buy decisions for AI capabilities that enhance forecasting and consulting delivery.
- Lead development of AI and agentic AI solutions leveraging large language models, RAG frameworks, prompt engineering and finetuning techniques. Deploy and monitor AI models that automate workflows and deliver measurable client value.
Team Management and Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, and analysts to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Partner with consulting teams to understand client context, and present platform solution to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Engineering Excellence
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance standards are met.
- Implement DevOps practices and automation for deployment and operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements.
Innovation and Thought Leadership
- Proactively scope and stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in platform engineering and AI.
- Proactively evaluate and pilot new technologies that could enhance Viscadia's platform capabilities.
- Contribute to the broader technology community through publications, presentations, or open-source contributions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the technical team.
Skills
Must Have
- 812 years of experience in software engineering, platform development, or technical program delivery, with 35 years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex, multi-workstream initiatives on time in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong structured problem-solving skills with the ability to make trade-offs across scope, quality, timeline, and scalability.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or Master's in Engineering preferred.
- Experience building and deploying scalable web applications, with a strong understanding of modern software development practices including Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and applied AI concepts, with the ability to integrate AI capabilities into product or platform solutions.
- Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, sufficient to lead frontend teams and architectural decisions.
Nice to Have
- Experience managing global virtual teams and large-scale solution delivery.
- Experience with specific AI/ML frameworks. Understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure, GCP).
- Strong supervisory and coaching with track record of technical innovation and thought leadership.
