Job Responsibilities :
- Purpose of the Role - To deploy overall CTS strategy, manage all technology services at the site by conceptualizing and implementing improvement projects with an objective of integrating new-age technology with site operations & achieve improve asset performance while adhering to overall CTS guidelines site procedures

- Responsibilities -
- Policies, Processes and Procedures -
- Participate in development of annual and 5 years rolling plans for CTS team
- Provide inputs to Head CTS for commercializing new schemes/ processes & implement new initiatives/ projects to meet future requirements of CTS
- Provide inputs for improvements in business processes, specifications and best practices
- Co-ordinate with licensors/ catalyst vendors/ experts to resolve technical issues
- Process Innovation -
- Identify Process Improvement Opportunities (PIOs) and lead implementation of these strategies. Identify new area for process automation applications & continuously recommend adoption of new technologies that improve overall asset performance
- Drive adoption of best technology as per benchmark studies and ensure compliance with all HSEF standards
- Conduct risk assessment of Management of Change (MOCs) process and provide mitigation plan to manage the risk; and oversee execution of corrective actions
- Advise on and lead major revamp studies including trials and test runs. Drive research and scale up projects of bench scale research to commercial trials
- Technology Assurance & Value Creation -
- Provide technology support for engineering, procurement, shutdown, construction and commissioning related activities. Provide accurate inputs for planning model to optimize overall gross margins
- Provide recommendations for utilizing existing unused assets and to bring down the cost by leveraging value engineering in all new projects/ capital intensive schemes
- Monitor plant performance on key parameters and recommend adoption of technologies to improve performance. Provide recommendations on feedstock/ chemical/ additive/ catalyst selection based on past experience and performance monitoring
- Review technology comparison reports and provide analysis/ insights on new technology adoption, existing utilization, improvement, etc.
- Oversee process design support for the sites in order to achieve safe and reliable operations of plant. Inspect process engineering work carried out by technologists.
- Quality Control & Governance -
- Conduct system and procedure compliance audits in own section and monitor compliance of technology operations to set standards including HSEF
- Conduct assessments to ensure technical integrity of all site operations & highlight any gaps as per quality norms. Conduct testing and analysis on samples and provide vital process information for effective interpretation of test results
- Ensure all engineering designs and modifications comply with the relevant industry design codes and standards
Define QAQC analysis schedule for effective monitoring of plant / catalyst performances. If required, recommend augmentation of monitoring with additional samples.
- People Management -
- Participate in recruitment activities & ensure retention / engagement of own team
- Set performance objectives of own team, evaluate / appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidance
- Guide, mentor and develop own team to take larger and complex responsibilities
- Evaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions
Education Requirement :
Necessary: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred)
Experience Requirement :
- Necessary: 9-12 years of experience in operations in a chemical plant, with exposure in chemical/ petrochemical/ refinery manufacturing CTS/ operations
