As a Technical Product Manager, you will be vital to our success and drive future growth. In this role you will provide accountability & leadership in the management and development of products for Optum healthcare. You will be empowered to do your best to align with data strategies, establish collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, gather accurate requirements and evaluate product performance to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our product, XD & other teams in UHC USA & build and own the roadmap of features for UHC
  • Must have worked directly with XD team members to drive rich experiential designs for digital products
  • Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team
  • Draft key objectives and results, metric, business value and apply the data for the product to make business decisions
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies
  • Asses value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product
  • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams
  • Stay on top of all meaningful health care and consumer technology trends, competitors, and market offerings
  • Manage cross-segment API driven projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing via agile methodology
  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned cohesive progress across technology & service operations
  • Identify capabilities required to solve complex data-centric problems prioritize problems and develop a road map that offers alternate methods of solving the problem
  • Think strategically, and creatively, about how initiatives should work to solve large applications - translating a vision to processes and requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years of product management, Product development or Consulting experience (consulting between the business and a technical team, serving as a liaison) with a focus on consumer-facing products (D2C, B2C or B2B2C)
  • 5+ years of experience breaking down requirements into Feature Level requirements and User Stories in an Agile environment. Could have worked as an architect/ software engineer
  • Experience successfully driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions, including a wide variety of mechanisms, e.g. dashboards, APIs, real time alerts, etc. Experience in both front end and back end work
  • Proven comfortable using tools such as Rally, AHA,Adobe, Tableau and identify meaningful insights
  • Proven track record of delivering data driven & complex solutions with a customer-first mindset
  • Proven established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles
  • Proven background with Agile, Scrum, and other software development methodologies
  • Proven ability and interest in data/analytics both user behavior/engagement with the product and reliability/reporting of the tech enabling the product

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience in the prevention, wellness, claims/insurance
  • Experience working with Director level and above to define problems and priority of work
  • Experience with user experience and building consumer facing products
  • Overall understanding of technologies used in the product
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence team members, leadership & stakeholders across levels
  • Proven keen analytical and problem-solving skills with business bent of mind
  • Proven outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take accountability
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
