Job Summary
We are looking for a highly analytical and execution-oriented Manager – Supply Chain Management who will primarily drive supply planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and cross-functional coordination across procurement, logistics, and sales.
The role will focus on ensuring material availability, optimizing inventory and dispatch planning, improving supply reliability, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the supply chain. The ideal candidate should have strong planning capability, commercial understanding, and operational discipline, preferably in metals, steel, commodities, or trading environments.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Forecasting
· Lead end-to-end supply planning activities aligned with sales forecasts and business priorities.
· Develop rolling demand forecasts in coordination with sales and commercial teams.
· Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily material planning schedules to ensure uninterrupted supply.
· Monitor inventory positions, stock movement, and replenishment cycles to optimize working capital.
· Drive demand-supply balancing and proactively identify risks related to shortages, delays, or excess inventory.
· Analyze historical trends, market movements, and customer demand patterns for planning accuracy.
Inventory & Dispatch Planning
· Optimize inventory levels across warehouses and customer locations.
· Coordinate dispatch planning to ensure timely deliveries and improved service levels.
· Monitor ageing inventory and recommend corrective actions for liquidation or redistribution.
· Improve inventory visibility and tracking mechanisms through ERP and reporting tools.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
· Work closely with procurement teams for purchase planning and supplier scheduling.
· Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and logistics partners to ensure adherence to committed timelines.
· Track vendor performance metrics including lead times, fill rates, and service reliability.
· Support strategic sourcing initiatives through planning inputs and consumption analysis.
Logistics & Operational Coordination
· Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline inbound and outbound movement planning.
· Ensure effective coordination between warehouses, transporters, procurement, and sales teams.
· Monitor order execution and proactively resolve operational bottlenecks.
Data Analytics & Process Improvement
· Build dashboards and MIS reports for supply chain KPIs including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, OTIF, lead times, and dispatch adherence.
· Leverage ERP systems and analytics tools to improve planning visibility and operational efficiency.
· Identify automation opportunities and process improvements to strengthen supply chain responsiveness.
· Drive SOP implementation and planning governance mechanisms.
Stakeholder Management
· Partner closely with sales, finance, procurement, and operations teams to align planning with business goals.
· Present planning insights and operational updates to leadership on a regular basis.
· Build strong working relationships with external vendors, logistics partners, and service providers.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
· 4–8 years of experience in supply chain planning, operations planning, procurement planning, or logistics coordination.
· Experience in metals, steel, commodities, trading, manufacturing, or construction materials industry preferred.
· Exposure to demand forecasting, inventory planning, and ERP-driven supply chain operations is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong analytical and planning capability with high attention to detail.
· Excellent understanding of supply chain planning concepts and inventory management.
· Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and reporting dashboards.
· Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.
· Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
· Strong communication and execution orientation.
