Job Title: Manager, Software Engineering

Job Purpose

Join the Velocify team within ICE Mortgage Technology to automate everything that is

automatable in the home loan approval process. The Velocify team specifically creates web-

based software to manage leads for loan officers allowing them to prioritize, distribute, and work

the leads through their organization's workflow. We are working with cutting edge technologies in

C# and AWS such as .NET Core, Elastic Search, Redis caching, RabbitMQ queues, and more!

Role Summary

As a development manager of Velocify product, you will apply your knowledge of management,

software development methodologies, best practices, and proven process to deliver a quality

software product on budget, within planned schedule with highest quality.

Responsibilities

Managers are expected to:

Lead/manage a team of developers on both new feature development and issue fixing

Provide leadership to the team daily through scrum ceremonies, facilitating discussions,

fostering collaboration between sibling organizations (other development teams, QA team

members, product managers, etc.) and organizing the teams appropriately.

Ensure high quality code via design reviews, code reviews and proper unit test coverage.

Coach and direct staff towards career goals, assign tasks and monitor performance.

Report status on project deliverables to upper management and mitigate risks as they

arise.

Support process improvements which guide the development activities.

Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business

direction, strategy, and results.

Work with the product organization to identify scope of work and feasible timelines,

prioritize work, and allocate available resources.

See the completion of solutions from inception through to deployment and final rollout of

the feature as well as ongoing support of solutions in production.

Provide technical leadership for the Velocify team. Create technical specifications for new

API's, executing from start to finish and owning the quality of the service in production.

Mentor new hires and further develop direct reports skill to improve the overall quality

and productivity of the team.

Work with onshore teams to ensure that our high bar of quality is continually met and that

the work performed is on track with deadlines and on target with priorities.

Knowledge and Experience

7+ years direct experience with managing multiple scrum teams and working with offshore teams.

Expertise with object-oriented languages such as C#.net and Java.

History of building resilient, stateless, scalable, distributed, and observable systems.

Experience in building REST services with high focus on performance.

Familiarity with microservices and knowledge of modern cloud services (AWS) preferred.

Strong project management experience with complex projects.

Excellent communication skills and close attention to detail.

Experience working in mortgage or other financial related industries is a plus.

Previous experience working with onshore teams is a plus.
