Job Description

  • Plan and provide technical leadership for a group of software engineers to ensure commitments are met
  • Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables on safety critical software development program
  • Lead and manage the development of project staff. Attract, and develop software engineers and software engineering leaders
  • Lead change initiatives: identify and implement creative, compliant ways to balance the cost of change with engineering value
  • Utilize Earned Value Management System in program execution
  • Utilize program metrics to drive change and improvements
  • Collaborate with certification authorities and software quality to ensure successful insertion of software changes in new and fielded engines
  • Coordinate and manage the development of tools and methods to automate process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree and 15+ years of prior relevant engineering and management experience
  • Proven experience in leading teams engaged in safety critical software development and certification
  • Leadership experience in avionics software development certification (civil-certified projects under DO-178B/C, Level A)
  • Proven track record of successful project execution leadership, while meeting cost, schedule, scope, and quality commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written oral communicator and change agent
  • Strong technical and people leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor and develop staff.
  • Possess a collaborative way of working
  • Demonstrated success in balancing business needs and affordability.
