About the Team

Deployment Foundations (DF) builds the next generation of enterprise tools that make it fast and easy for customers and partners to adopt Workday features. We focus on the deployment and adoption lifecycle endtoend, with a particular emphasis on helping customers reliably move data and configuration objects into their Workday environments using modern platforms and technologies.

Our globally distributed team works on highimpact, complex problems at the core of Workday's deployment experience. We partner closely with product, customer experience, and other engineering teams to ensure our solutions are intuitive, robust, and deeply integrated into the broader Workday platform. About the Role

As a Manager, Software Development Engineering in the Deployment Foundations space, you will lead a team responsible for the platforms and tools that drive deployment and ongoing adoption of Workday features. You will combine technical leadership with people management, guiding architecture and execution while fostering a healthy, highperforming engineering culture.

You will manage a team working with modern programming languages and technologies to build secure, scalable, and reliable deployment experiences. You'll apply solid decisionmaking and technical project management skills to define roadmaps, make tradeoffs, and keep projects on track from requirements through delivery.

You will translate product and customer needs into clear technical direction, influence crossfunctional partners, and drive alignment on key technical decisions. You will mentor and develop engineers at different levels, provide regular coaching and feedback, and help grow their technical and leadership capabilities.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience building and directly managing impactful engineering teams.

  • 8+ years of experience developing applications using cloud-based technologies.

  • 8+ years of hands-on design and development experience with an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, or C++.

  • Strong proficiency running agile teams using Scrum, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.

  • You are experienced with development planning and tracking tools, particularly Jira, and use them effectively to drive transparency and delivery.

  • You have a strong focus on delivering high-quality software products, continuous innovation, and you value test automation and performance engineering.

  • You are proactive and able to take ownership and deliver on initiatives from concept through execution.

  • You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and can positively influence key issues and decisions in a cross-functional environment.

  • You can communicate technical complexity in simple, clear terms to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience supporting team members career growth and development through coaching, feedback, and clear development plans.

  • You put people first and work to ensure a psychologically safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for team members.
