The University of Aberdeen will open its Mumbai campus in Powai in September 2026. At launch, it will offer six programmes: four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration.
We are seeking a capable and solutions‑driven Manager/Senior Manager – IT & Digital to support campus-wide IT services, digital systems, infrastructure management, and end‑user support.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Support the day‑to‑day running of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, Wi-Fi systems, and digital classroom technologies.
- Coordinate setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and audiovisual systems.
- Ensure availability, security, and performance of all digital platforms supporting academic and administrative functions.
User Support & Service Delivery
- Provide timely and effective IT support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Oversee helpdesk operations, ticket resolution, and issue escalation.
- Develop user guides, conduct training sessions, and ensure digital readiness across the campus.
Systems & Digital Platforms
- Assist in implementation and management of enterprise systems such as LMS, ERP, HRIS, CRM, and digital learning tools.
- Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure system alignment with the University's UK standards.
- Support integrations, upgrades, and digital innovation projects.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement cybersecurity best practices, including access management, device policies, and basic security monitoring.
- Support compliance with Indian IT regulations and internal security frameworks.
- Maintain documentation, logs, and audit‑related records.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
- Coordinate with IT vendors, service providers, hardware suppliers, and ed‑tech partners.
- Support procurement processes including device specifications, quotations, and installation oversight.
Data, Reporting & Improvements
- Maintain IT inventories, asset registers, and digital infrastructure documentation.
- Track performance metrics, user satisfaction, and incident trends.
- Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology enhancements.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of IT operations, networks, systems, and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and technical issues.
- Experience with ERP, LMS, or enterprise digital tools.
- Strong communication and user‑support skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple requests efficiently.
- Attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and process discipline.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on customer experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, user support, systems administration, or digital services.
- Experience in higher education or technology-driven organizations preferred.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity basics, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.
