Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related field.
EXPERIENCE (Years)
Experience: 12 - 18 years of relevant experience in designing refrigeration system for cold chain, HVAC, or industrial refrigeration.
JOB ROLE
Refrigeration Cycle Design
- Develop and optimize refrigeration cycles (e.g., vapor compression, cascade systems) for commercial applications.
- Evaluate alternative refrigerants and eco-friendly technologies.
- Conduct simulation testing and thermodynamic analysis using relevant tools.
Product Development & Innovation
- Lead new product development (NPD) initiatives from concept to launch.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Quality) to ensure seamless integration of R&D outputs.
- Drive re-designs and upgrades based on customer feedback and market trends.
Technical Leadership
- Guide team in experimental setups, lab testing, and prototype validation.
- Perform root cause analysis on field failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support certification processes and compliance with safety and energy standards in collaboration with Safety team.
- Interact with sales team and customers time to time to align on product requirements
- Collaborate with Factory, supply chain and suppliers for new product development
Vendor & Cost Optimization
- Identify and develop new vendors for critical components.
- Analyze BOM and cost structures to propose cost-effective alternatives.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of design iterations, testing protocols, and performance metrics.
- Present technical findings and project updates to senior management
Team Management
- Manage new product development team (23members) and resources (Lab and Proto team) for New platform development
Essential Attributes
- In-depth knowledge of Refrigeration system
- Proficiency in refrigeration system modeling, CAD tools, and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
- Thermodynamic Analysis - Expertise in cycle efficiency and refrigerant behavior
- Experience with CFD or similar platforms
- Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with BIS, BEE, ASHRAE, standards
- Extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical and ergonomically safety
- Extensive experience in HVAC&R new product design, development and testing
