Job Summary

The Manager - QA / QC - Civil will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for civil engineering and construction projects. This role ensures that all project deliverables, materials, and workmanship comply with established quality standards, project specifications, national and international codes, and regulatory requirements. The Manager will lead a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors, implement robust quality management systems, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across all civil works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans, procedures, and inspection test plans (ITPs) for all civil construction activities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, drawings, applicable codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, ISO), and client requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work, materials, and equipment, identifying any non-conformances or potential risks.
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and work procedures from contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage the non-conformance reporting (NCR) process, including identification, documentation, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee all testing activities, including concrete testing, soil compaction tests, rebar inspections, and other civil material tests, ensuring proper procedures are followed and results are documented.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed quality records, documentation, and reports, including daily quality logs, inspection reports, test results, and final quality dossiers.
  • Liaise effectively with project management, engineering teams, clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on all quality-related matters.
  • Facilitate internal and external quality audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and processes are in place and compliant.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on quality issues, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements to enhance overall project quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations are integrated into quality processes and site activities.
