About The Role
As a Manager – Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects within the region, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards across all construction and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) activities. From excavation to final handover, you will drive project efficiency, collaborate with stakeholders and maintain adherence to budgetary and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Financial Management
- Lead site reviews and budgeting processes to ensure financial prudence
- Work closely with the Finance team to facilitate timely payments to contractors, vendors and PMCs as needed
- Operational execution
- Develop and implement an optimised sequence of activities in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g., contractors, PMCs) to maintain project timelines
- Supervise all operational aspects, including Civil, MEP and Planning, ensuring alignment with project schedules
- Coordinate with the design team to ensure timely availability of Good for Construction (GFC) drawings
- Review drawings in collaboration with architects and consultants, proactively identifying risks and mitigating potential challenges
- Assess material requirements on-site, approve procurement plans and coordinate with the Contracts and Budgeting teams
- Work closely with the Facilities and Handover team during the snagging process to ensure a smooth transition
- Define scope and responsibility for resolving snag issues and ensure corrective actions are taken by the project team
- People Management
- Develop and oversee training schedules for PMCs and contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to industry best practices
- Set clear objectives for team members and effectively allocate work to balance workloads
- Regularly review tasks completed by the team and provide performance feedback
- Conduct performance appraisals and professional development reviews
- Organise team-building and engagement initiatives to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Process adherence and continuous improvement
- Ensure strict compliance with all quality, safety and regulatory standards as per established SOPs and guidelines
- Identify areas for process improvement and drive enhancements to streamline project execution.
Who are we looking for
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Postgraduate degree in Construction Management from NICMAR (preferred)
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in real estate project execution
- Proven track record of managing projects worth INR 200-300 crore
- Experience leading teams of 20-25 professionals directly
Skills
- Ability to critically review Architectural, Structural and MEP drawings to anticipate and mitigate risks
- Develops efficient contracting strategies, ensuring timely awarding and structuring of work packages
- Strong financial oversight and understanding of project cost management
- Deep understanding of construction methodologies, structural engineering and MEP services
- Cultivates a culture of excellence, balancing quality, progress and safety
- Ensures adherence to safety and industry regulations
- Strong ability to engage, negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and drive performance within project teams
- Adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
