Purpose of the Role:

To lead external communication, media relations, and PR initiatives, strengthening Alkem's corporate reputation and visibility through strategic media engagement and impactful storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute PR and media strategies aligned with organizational priorities and brand positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media houses, journalists, and industry platforms.
  • Lead creation of press releases, media notes, leadership articles, interviews, and external communication content.
  • Manage media interactions, press conferences, and leadership visibility opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for brand building through external platforms, industry forums, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Monitor media coverage, track sentiment, and ensure accurate representation of the organization.
  • Manage crisis communication in coordination with senior leadership, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate business developments into compelling external narratives.
  • Ensure alignment of all external communication with brand guidelines and corporate messaging.

Stakeholder Network:

  • Internal: Senior Leadership, Business Heads, Corporate Communication,
  • External: Media houses, PR agencies, Industry bodies

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in PR, media relations, or corporate communication
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Marketing; MBA preferred
  • Strong media network and relationship management skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and external communication strategy
  • Ability to handle crisis communication
  • High ownership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills
