Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience
- 4–5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in direct tax, preferably with a Big‑4 or reputed mid-size CA / tax advisory firm
- Experience managing engagements relating to Individuals, HUFs, Partnership Firms, and LLPs
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Tax Compliance & Advisory
- Manage and deliver end-to-end direct tax compliance for a portfolio of PCS clients, including:
- Individuals (HNIs / professionals / promoters)
- HUFs
- Partnership Firms and LLPs
- Review and oversee preparation and filing of:
- Income-tax returns
- TDS/TCS returns and related compliances
- Lead advance tax computations, tax provisioning, and periodic tax reviews
- Provide technical tax advisory on:
- Capital gains (equity, mutual funds, ESOPs, property, unlisted investments)
- Investment income and tax-efficient structuring
- Residential status and taxability of income (including basic exposure to foreign income)
- Analyze and interpret:
- Stock market and investment portfolio statements
- Corporate actions and their tax implications
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Form 26AS, AIS, and TIS
- Reconciliations, mismatch analysis, and risk identification
- Handle:
- Online rectifications, responses to notices/communications
- Assessment and representation support in coordination with senior
2. Accounting & Financial Reporting Support
- Review and supervise:
- Maintenance of books of accounts
- Month-end and year-end closures
- Preparation and review of:
- Balance Sheet
- Profit & Loss Account
- Working knowledge of accounting and compliance requirements for firms and LLPs
- Hands-on experience with:
- Tally / QuickBooks / Zoho
- Bank reconciliations and supporting schedules
3. Technology & Tools
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (tax computations, reconciliations, analytical reviews) and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook and professional email communication
- Exposure to tax return / compliance software and workflow tools preferred
- Interest or experience in tax technology, process automation, and digitization initiatives is an added advantage
4. Engagement Management, Communication & Presentation
- Act as a key point of contact for clients on routine tax and advisory matters
- Prepare and deliver client-ready presentations, summaries, and dashboards on:
- Tax positions, planning recommendations, and key risk areas
- Advance tax workings, effective tax rates, and advisory outcomes
- Ability to present complex tax concepts clearly and concisely to clients and internal stakeholders
- Participate in:
- Client meetings
- Internal reviews and partner discussions
- Manage engagement timelines, quality, and deliverables across multiple clients
- Identify advisory opportunities
- Review work of junior team members and provide structured feedback and coaching
