About The Opportunity

The Payroll Operations Manager provides leadership, direction, and operational oversight for a high-volume payroll team. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely end-to-end payroll processing while maintaining exceptional client service standards. The leader is responsible for coaching and developing payroll specialist, managing daily operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring SLA compliance across US and Canadian payroll functions.

  • Work collaboratively with peers on a consistent cadence to ensure processes remain aligned, efficient, and streamlined across the department.
  • Oversee day-to-day across various global locations, ensuring end-to-end payroll success.
  • Measure, monitor, and control quality using department metrics.
  • Accountable for overall quality control and auditing to ensure low error/defect percentages.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Document and escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage continuous change effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Plan and coordinate regular team meetings to promote quality culture and participation.
  • Make operational recommendations for internal leadership.
  • Hours of work between 8am-8pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Skills And Experience We Value

  • 3+ years of experience managing North American teams in a high-volume payroll and benefits operation
  • North American Payroll knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with other functional areas/organizations to deliver a seamless experience in a matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with leadership, internal partners, and customers
  • An ability to plan, organize, and problem solve in a strategic way, aligning with company goals
  • Bachelor's Degree desired or equivalent work experience
  • Industry related certification is an asset
  • Experience in the outsourcing or consulting industry preferred
  • High adaptability and flexibility
  • An ability to manage through constant change with minimal stress

  • Multinational payroll experience an asset (US/CA)
  • Experience managing, directing and collaborating with offshore teams providing ongoing daily support and subject matter expertise
