Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day production activities at our mould manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate must have solid experience in mould manufacturing and be capable of managing people, planning production tasks, ensuring smooth execution, and maintaining operational discipline.
This role requires a strong leader who can coordinate production, workflow, procurement, and process planning while ensuring timely delivery, global-level quality, and high operational standards.
Key Management
- Plan, organize, and manage daily production activities.
- Assign tasks to operators and production staff based on workflow requirements.
- Decide and prioritize daily operations and ensure smooth commencement of activities.
- Prepare detailed process plans and manufacturing routes for each part/project.
- Estimate manufacturing time and ensure projects move according to schedule.
- Monitor production progress and take proactive steps to avoid delays.
- Ensure strict adherence to high-quality standards and reduce rejection & rework.
- Introduce and maintain good quality of work and world-class quality standards required for moulds.
Team Leadership
- Supervise production staff and ensure discipline, efficiency, and accountability.
- Conduct daily briefings on tasks, priorities, and goals.
- Train team members on quality expectations, processes, safety, and productivity improvements.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify skill-upgrade requirements.
Procurement & Inventory Coordination
- Identify procurement needs for raw materials, consumables, tools, and machine spares.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
- Track inventory levels and maintain accurate procurement logs.
- Avoid material shortages and ensure smooth production flow.
Process Optimization & Planning
- Analyze bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Standardize production workflows, documentation, and quality procedures.
- Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices where applicable.
- Ensure maximum machine utilization with minimal downtime.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate production records, timelines, and status reports.
- Update daily production sheets and maintain a structured production database.
- Prepare reports for management on productivity, output, and issues encountered.
- Track operator performance, machine performance, and manpower utilization.
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all moulds are produced with high precision and top-quality standards.
- Work closely with the QA team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized shop floor environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mould manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of mould manufacturing processes, machining, workflow planning, and quality requirements.
- Experience working in an international environment with a global view for management and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and team-management skills.
- Ability to estimate manufacturing time, create process plans, and manage multiple projects.
- Strong data management skills with proficiency in MS Excel / ERP.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines.
Preferred (Optional) Add-Ons
- Experience with CNC, VMC, EDM workflow planning.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S implementations.
- Exposure to global procurement and vendor management.
- Ability to plan and track machine maintenance schedules
