Job Purpose:
This role should have a strong design sensibility, leadership acumen and hands-on experience managing high-end residential, hospitality, or commercial interior projects. This role requires someone who can guide a team of 8–10 designers, uphold design quality, and ensure timely delivery across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the interior design team from concept to execution across multiple luxury interior projects.
- Review, refine, and approve design concepts, layouts, mood boards, and material selections.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and cross-functional teams to understand briefs and ensure design intent is maintained.
- Supervise detailed drawings, BOQs, and specifications in coordination with technical and project teams.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
- Provide mentorship, performance management, and skill development for team members.
- Stay updated on global design trends, luxury materials, and innovations in interior design.
- Conduct regular design reviews and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or architecture.
- 12–15 years of progressive experience in interior design, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
- Experience in luxury interior projects is mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Strong portfolio showcasing luxury interior projects (residential, hospitality, or commercial).
- Excellent spatial planning, material knowledge, and detailing skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and MS Office; knowledge of Revit or other BIM tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of site coordination, design development, and execution process.
- Effective leadership, communication, and client-handling skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure.
