Manager, Module and System Tooling Development - OLED DFT

  • Manage engineering group responsible for Maintenance module for OLED Evaporation system, large format Glass Substrate Handling, System Maintenance tooling design, including staffing, technical mentoring, and employee professional development.
  • Develop and sustain supervisors and technical leaders for key areas of responsibility ensure budget adherence.

  • Provide technical leadership and/or execute engineering projects and programs for Display System Tooling Development (maintenance tooling, maintenance modules, and module transportation tooling) for the OLED evaporator system.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of product releases in accordance with defined requirements and prompt resolution of complex issues.

  • Ensure tooling designs comply with SEMI safety standards and applicable regional EHS requirements.

  • Ensure effective integration of engineering resources with cross-functional teams to achieve complex product goals.

  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding complex engineering issues across the product portfolio collaboration with module design owners, field support engineering, product safety, operations, and Safety certification experts.

  • Review product requirements and provide expertise and judgment throughout product development.

  • Lead research and development of new technologies ensure newly developed processes, designs, and methodologies are incorporated within Applied Materials, as appropriate.
  • Drive a focus on safety, tooling standardization, and preventive maintenance (PM) time reduction through smart PM tooling solutions. Tooling Design verification using AI and other Digital tools.
  • Ensure assigned projects and programs are completed in accordance with defined requirements, with attention to product and process specifications, cost, resource utilization, and timely completion.
  • Establish operational objectives and assignments effectively delegate work to subordinate staff.
  • Be responsible for professional development, team building, defining organizational roles, hiring, and retention.
  • Functional Knowledge
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of concepts, theories, and principles within the job family, with foundational knowledge of related job families.
  • Demonstrates expertise in meeting SEMI standards, safety standards, and ASME and ISO design standards.
  • Experience with any 3D CAD Software is must (3D modeling & 2D/3D drawings)

  • Applies an understanding of the industry and how the function contributes to achievement of business objectives. Display-specific tooling requires expertise in heavy material-handling techniques and associated tooling.

  • Manages RFTs and contractors, provides technical direction, and conducts design reviews.

  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational, and organizational problems.

  • Impacts service levels and the team's ability to meet quality, volume, and timeliness objectives.
  • Operates within business unit, department, or sub-function policies and resource requirements.
  • Tooling development is a critical function for heavy equipment used in display manufacturing. PM time reduction is a key priority and requires development of smart tooling solutions.

  • Guides, influences, and persuades internal stakeholders and external partners, as appropriate.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree

Skills/Certifications: SEMI standards, safety standards, and expertise in heavy equipment development
