Role Purpose
To lead and manage end-to-end fabrication manufacturing operations, ensuringsafe, high-quality, cost-effective, and on-time productionthrough effective planning, manpower management, process control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Control
Own daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for fabrication shop
Ensure achievement ofoutput, delivery, and productivity targets
Coordinate with Planning, PPC, Stores, QA, and Dispatch teams
2. Fabrication Operations Management
Oversee fabrication processes such as:
Cutting (Plasma / Laser / Oxy-fuel)
Bending & forming
Welding (MIG, TIG, Arc, SAW)
Assembly and fit-up
Ensure correct routing, sequencing, and takt adherence
3. Quality Assurance & Process Control
Ensure compliance withdrawings, WPS, ITPs, and quality standards
Reduce rework, rejection, and welding defects
Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and customer audits
4. Manpower & Shift Management
Lead supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor workforce
Optimize manpower deployment and skill utilization
Drive discipline, productivity, and skill development
5. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
Ensure optimal utilization and uptime of machines
Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance
Support CAPEX planning for new machines and tooling
6. Cost Control & Productivity Improvement
Monitor and control:
Material consumption
Welding consumables
Manpower cost
DriveLean, Kaizen, 5S, and productivity improvement initiatives
7. Safety & Compliance
EnforceEHS policies, safe work practices, and permit systems
Ensure statutory compliance and zero-accident culture
Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits
8. Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination
Interface with customers for production status and priorities
Support trials, new product introduction (NPI), and ramp-ups
Coordinate with Design for manufacturability improvements
