As a Sourcing Manager, you support the Senior Sourcing Manager by identifying, evaluating, and developing vendors to meet current and future business needs in line with company standards and ethics. The role involves supplier research, product and vendor development, pricing negotiation support, and strengthening vendor partnerships. You collaborate closely with crossfunctional and international teams, especially bridging communication between India and US stakeholders. Ensuring compliance, supporting business growth, and developing skills for future leadership are key aspects of the role.
- Execution of Strategic Plans: As a Sourcing Manager, your primary role is to execute sourcing strategies and plans developed by the Sourcing director and the Senior Sourcing Manager. This involves implementing procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Supplier Management: You will be responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with existing suppliers, as well as identifying and engaging new suppliers as directed by the Senior Sourcing Manager. This includes negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research and analyzing data to provide insights that support strategic sourcing decisions. This helps in identifying market trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings. Procurement Process Optimization: Working on optimizing procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This involves streamlining workflows, automating tasks where possible, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with organizational goals.
- Compliance and Risk Management: ensuring that all sourcing activities comply with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. This includes managing risks associated with suppliers and procurement processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that sourcing activities meet their requirements. This involves providing updates on procurement status and resolving any issues that arise.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key performance metrics related to sourcing activities, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times. evaluating the effectiveness of sourcing strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in sourcing processes and propose suggestions to the Senior Sourcing Manager. This helps in refining strategies and ensuring that sourcing operations remain aligned with business objectives.
- 9 + years of relevant industry experience related to the retail market, preferably the US market.
- Experience in International Business, Sourcing and Merchandising
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and import sourcing practices / procedures
- Knowledge of global supplier base and strong supplier development experience
- Demonstrated leadership of teams both direct reports and cross business functions
- Excels at relationship management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
