The team provides comprehensive legal counsel across various domains, including corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The team oversees corporate governance, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations and facilitating effective board and shareholder engagements. The team proactively manages compliance across multiple regulated sectors, adapting to evolving regulatory landscapes.

About the Role

In this role, you will provide end-to-end legal support for the Company's secured lending products, working closely with senior stakeholders across business and operations. You will guide the business team on title search reports, legal diligence reports, and security documentation to ensure robust creation, perfection, and enforceability of security. You will oversee processes under SARFAESI, and manage secured debt-related disputes and litigation initiated by customers or the Company, coordinating with external counsel where required. You will also identify gaps and drive process optimisation to enable faster, smoother execution while ensuring processes remain ethical, compliant, and scalable.

What We Expect From You

• Advise business and operations teams on transaction documentation and security documentation, ensuring completeness and enforceability.
• Partner with business, operations, collections, risk, and compliance teams to deliver commercially practical and legally sound solutions.
• Drive process improvements by standardising SOPs, templates, checklists, and controls to support scalable execution.
• Review title search reports and legal diligence reports, identify key title/security risks, and recommend clear mitigants.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support enforcement and litigation strategy and ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
• Oversee end-to-end security enforcement, including SARFAESI workflows, ensuring strong control over timelines and documentation.
• Manage secured debt disputes and litigation (customer-initiated or Company-initiated), including strategy inputs, matter tracking, and external counsel coordination

Must Haves

• 4-7 years PQE in a Tier 1 law firm or a well-known financial institution.
• Undergraduate law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) from a recognised law school.
• Strong working knowledge of SARFAESI and secured enforcement, with an understanding of litigation procedures and court/tribunal processes.
• Sound understanding of property laws, title due diligence, and common title/encumbrance risks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and execute effective legal strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High ownership, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters with competing timelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
