Manager – L2 Production Support (ETL & Data Platforms)

What You Will Do

Production & Incident Leadership

• Own L2 support for large-scale ETL pipelines and batch processing systems.

• Ensure SLA compliance across incidents, service requests, and problem management.

• Lead major incident bridges and drive timely resolution.

• Perform deep root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.

• Drive measurable reduction in recurring production issues.

Data Platform & ETL Support

• Support and troubleshoot complex ETL workflows (Informatica, Ab Initio, DataStage or similar).

• Work extensively with Greenplum databases, including query tuning and performance troubleshooting.

• Monitor data integrity, job performance, and platform stability.

• Collaborate with DBA, infrastructure, and development teams for performance optimization.

• Exposure to cloud-native technologies.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of L2 support engineers.

• Drive accountability, skill development, and operational excellence.

• Manage on-call rotations and ensure 24x7 production coverage.

• Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Automation & Operational Excellence

• Leverage Unix/Linux and Shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks.

• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.

• Champion proactive support models over reactive firefighting.

Stakeholder & Business Engagement

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders.

• Provide production health updates and trend analysis.

• Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
