The role holder is responsible for establishing and managing the company's IT operational backbone—including infrastructure, cloud services, end-user computing, and cybersecurity. The role holder is responsible for driving initiatives to safeguard information systems, optimize performance, ensure service quality, scalability, and security as the business grows, at the same time ensuring compliance with industry standards in a consumer electronics environment.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Network and Infrastructure Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations managed by outsourced vendors, including helpdesk support, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint management
- Ensure the availability, reliability and performance of network infrastructure, both cloud-based and on-premises.
- Set up and maintain all necessary hardware and software for applications, including SAP, ensuring optimal functionality and uptime.
- Collaborate with service providers to manage the ecosystem and ensure seamless integration of IT services.
- Implement basic ITSM practices and define internal standards as the function matures.
2. Cloud Management
- Evaluate business needs and oversee the hosting of all servers on the cloud, ensuring efficient backend management of data and applications.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance issues and take corrective actions as necessary to maintain service availability.
- Implement cost optimization strategies related to cloud services and infrastructure.
3. Information Security Management
- Oversee the implementation and management of information security systems to protect against hacking, data disclosure, and destruction of information systems.
- Conduct regular risk audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Manage password auditing, virus management, and the establishment of security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Develop and enforce foundational cybersecurity policies and user awareness practices
4. Cybersecurity Monitoring and Compliance
- Ensure the implementation of firewalls and real-time monitoring of IT security systems to detect and respond to threats promptly.
- Monitor domain names and social media for security breaches and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including readiness for upcoming data protection regulations and telecom compliance.
5. Vendor and Budget Management
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring they meet performance expectations and compliance standards.
- Review and revise vendor reports, support issue resolution, and escalate budget overruns while identifying solutions to stay within financial constraints.
- Manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
- Define SLAs and monitor vendor performance; escalate and resolve service gaps or incidents.
6. Continuous Improvement and Technology Upgradation
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in technology and cybersecurity, ensuring continuous upgrades and optimizations of IT systems and applications.
- Provide input to legal and cross-functional teams regarding compliance and security matters, fostering a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Ensure the uptime of all IT assets, including applications on the network and platforms, through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
7. Team Management
- Encourage team participation in the goal-setting process to foster ownership and accountability for achieving targets.
- Implement a structured escalation process to ensure timely resolution of critical problems and minimize disruption to IT operations and security.
- Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to support infrastructure needs for applications, engineering, and analytics teams.
- Support team members in pursuing relevant certifications and training programs to enhance their skills and career growth in IT operations and cybersecurity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10-12 years of progressive experience in IT operations and cybersecurity
- Proven experience working in a high-tech or consumer electronics manufacturing environment is a plus.
