WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB:

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.

The candidate will be responsible for design, implementation and management for cloud-based enterprise data analytics ecosystem, including, but not limited to, data delivery, data preparation, data discovery, data processing, data integration, data storage, data science, data analytics, machine learning, etc. The candidate will have experience of new emerging cloud data technologies and will work with IT partners to do design, and implementation works on use cases leading to viable funded new projects/applications. The candidate will also implement AA's enterprise data strategy for both structured and unstructured data sources as single data platform, supporting data exploration, discovery, analytics, and reporting. They will manage a team of data engineers to build and support enterprise data warehouse, data lake and data hub models. Knowledge and expertise in data engineering patterns, cloud security and networks are a must.

• Manage and maintains offshore Data platform engineering team in data warehouse and data lake
• Ensures detailed cloud design with IaaS, PaaS or SaaS services which complies with enterprise hybrid data strategy standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes
• Coordinates and Implements data security and integration modules with IT services team
• Implement and maintains automation process to build self-service portal consumed by enterprise IT & Business teams
• Lead to Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data platform problems related to data lake strategy
• Identifies, defines, and implements resiliency strategies for HA, DR, security Key-Vaults and Active Directory
• Oversees and sets data platform performance and availability improvements measures based on metric analysis
• Leads highly complex capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/ administration, and diagnostics
• Follows architectural direction and provides the expertise to design future open source or vendor provided solutions for data engineering platform area.
• Creates, coordinates and administers documentation including base definition, base practices, operational guidelines, and security for data engineering and analytics
• Applies established data management best practices and recommends improvements
• Contribute to Data engineering and analytics OKR and budget initiatives
• Assists with other information technology projects, as assigned, within the general scope of regularly assigned responsibilities and related qualifications.
• Provides expertise, mentor and guide data platform technical engineers in implementing new initiatives for data platform and analytics

ALL YOU'LL NEED FOR SUCCESS:

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 9+ years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support for data analytics platforms with 2+ in cloud strategy required

Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience:

• Bachelors in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 9+ years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support for data analytics platforms with 2+ in cloud strategy required and 3+ years in people leadership role

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Strong skills in distributed and parallel computing technologies and operating systems like Azure, Amazon cloud architecture and in-memory processing using Spark
• Experienced with designing data Strategies, architecting infrastructure, developing data patterns & frameworks, incubate, develop & implement data products
• Extensive hands-on experience with Teradata Data Warehouse and Azure Databricks and Data Lake tool stack
• Good understanding of cloud data security architecture for authentication, multi-tenancy/authorization, auditing and governance
• Experienced with data analytics ecosystem: data integration, data delivery, data preparation, data discovery, data processing, data storage, data science, machine learning, etc.
• Aptitude to learn techniques and technologies regarding mathematical modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
• Experienced in real time messaging and relational database management technologies
• Good understanding and knowledge for Software development life cycles; Agile project management methodology is a must
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Interact with enterprise architects, follow guideline standards, communicate and present enterprise data initiatives to the American architecture community
• Analyze, discover, document, and communicate design options for implementing analysis specifications
• Ability to be flexible and focused in delivering products with different priorities and timelines
• Work closely with other system architects to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise needs
• Interface with management, business analysts, project managers, IT Architects and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements
• Experience in Agile methodologies like Rally, GitHub
• Experience in DevOps ADO & GitHub toolchain and technologies
• Airline Industry experience will be plus
