Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Gurgaon/Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Mercer's Investments business is a leading global provider of investment consulting and fiduciary management services. We offer customised advice and support at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process.

You will work with the Manager Research team across a number of areas supporting the team with investment due diligence of Fixed Income strategies within public markets including contact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

We will count on you to:

  • Leading quantitative and qualitative data requests from traditional asset managers for fund due diligence with a special focus on fixed income within public markets.
  • Contribute to the investment decision-making and manager-selection processes.
  • Conducting fund manager due diligence, involving a broad set of qualitative and quantitative considerations
  • Prepare written reports on including qualitative and quantitative analysis of a manager's investment strategy across a broad range of metrics.
  • Maintain updated investment due diligence notes, meeting notes and recommendations in proprietary database
  • Deal with routine queries from investment managers and investment consultants as appropriate
  • Maintain an efficient process for delivering manager research adhering to accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor portfolio performance and markets trends
  • Contribute in terms of new investment ideas, actively sharing views and opinions during regular team meetings

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years experience in global markets with adequate exposure in traditional asset classes specifically fixed income.
  • Understanding of the different sub-asset classes within fixed income including High Yield, investment grade, Emerging Market Debt, Government Bonds etc.
  • Prior experience in asset management or investment research with strong understanding of investment strategies
  • CFA Charter holder and/or progress towards CFA at advance levels is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to undertake complex data-driven projects
  • A team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisational ability with an attention to detail to prioritise and complete work in accordance with deadlines
  • Proven ability to communicate views orally and write concise and logically argued research reports in a timely manner, sometimes to tight deadlines
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other core Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
