Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Project Delivery

. Translate the Design Director's creative vision into clear, actionable design strategies

and guide teams from concept through execution

. Oversee all phases of design projects, including concept development, space planning,

material selection, documentation, procurement support, and installation

. Ensure design solutions meet functional, aesthetic, regulatory, and brand requirements

. Review and approve design packages, specifications, drawings, and presentations

. Maintain design intent throughout procurement, construction, and project opening

. Stay current with industry trends, materials, technologies, and best practices

Team Leadership & People Management

. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of interior designers and junior staff

. Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, coaching, and professional development

planning

. Empower team members to proactively identify, flag, and resolve design and project

issues

. Build a strong design culture (Build the Guild) that encourages collaboration,

accountability, and excellence

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

. Collaborate with clients to understand needs, goals, budgets, and timelines

. Partner closely with architects, project managers, contractors, vendors, consultants, and

internal teams

. Ensure design solutions are clearly communicated to the broader design and

construction teams for accurate execution

. Support business development efforts, including proposals, pitches, and client presentations

Project & Operational Management

. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple projects

. Ensure quality control and consistency across all design deliverables

. Participate in site visits to support technical execution and resolve on-site challenges

. Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high design

Standards

Qualifications

. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field

. 8-10+ years of professional interior design experience, including leadership or people

management experience

. Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-driven, high-quality, and technically sound work

. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe

Creative Suite, etc.)

. Solid understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards

. Proven track record of delivering outstanding design on high-profile projects

. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

. Strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills

. Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, external consultants, clients,

and partners
