Job Purpose

The role requires to support the Indirect tax vertical head on providing tax advisory, manage various indirect tax investigations, litigation and facilitate closure of the same, building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, legal counsels and tax consultants.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities


I
. Enquiries/Summons/Investigations

:At present managing substantially whole (in terms of count) of the non - litigation and pre - litigation enquires/summons/investigations/GST Audit

s1. Independently deal with Circles/SSC/Business F&

A2. Guide the respective teams for preparing appropriate submissions. Ensuring that the submissions are in the interest of both the tax authority and the organizatio

n3. Guide the respective teams for Liaising with tax authoritie

s4. Review the submissions before the same is submitted with the department

s5. Guide the teams to prepare draft responses/replie

s6. Review/validate/modify the draft

s7. Independently draft the replies/responses involving technical aspect

s8. Closely manage the pre-litigation enquiries/summons/investigation

s9. Held discussion with all the relevant teams before making any submission to department for audit

s10. Highlight any concerns or unfavorable impact of any submission to seniors. Any discrepancies noticed or improvement/modification required in internal processes to be highlighted to seniors. Design the plan and implement accordingl

y11. Identify cases which may have PAN India implications and design the way forward/seek advisor

ation:
1. Independently draft and ensure filing of appeals in case of regulatory

refunds2. Drafting of other SCN/Appeals i

n-house3. Interacting, explaining the facts and coordinating with consultants/ seniors for preparing any writs/SCN/Appeals as and when r

equired4. Attend virtual hearings where re

quired.
IV. Review of processes from compliance & internal control pers

pective:
1. Keeping close watch on the outward process in order to determine areas of im

provement2. Highlight areas of low, moderate & high risk from tax exposure pe

rspective3. Work towards driving new process implementation or its impr

ovisation4. Strategize in consultation with seniors and consultants to lower risk of processes which are identified as moderate

and high5. Keep track of legal update impacting our business and preparing plan and process for it's imple

mentation
