Position Overview:

The Manager - Indirect Cost Controller is a senior finance professional responsible for end-to-end governance, monitoring, optimization, and strategic control of all indirect (overhead) cost elements across Blue Dart's national operations.

Operating within a listed company environment and reporting into the Head - CREST Reporting, Controlling & BCA, this role provides structured financial oversight on administrative expenses, support function costs, infrastructure costs, IT, HR, facility management, aviation overhead allocations, and other non-direct operational expenditures.

The role combines strong financial controlling expertise, business partnering capability, digital analytics, and AI-enabled cost monitoring frameworks to drive cost transparency, cost discipline, and margin protection. The incumbent will work closely with business leaders, functional heads, R2R, FP&A, and procurement teams to ensure budget adherence, cost optimization, and accurate financial reporting under CREST and country controlling standards.

Job Purpose:

To institutionalize a robust indirect cost control framework that ensures budget discipline, cost transparency, financial accuracy, margin protection, and strategic cost optimization in alignment with country controlling objectives and group reporting standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Indirect Cost Governance & Budget Control

. Own monitoring of all indirect cost categories across corporate and regional structures.
. Ensure strict adherence to approved annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
. Conduct monthly variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast).
. Identify cost overruns, leakage risks, and inefficiencies proactively.

CREST Reporting & Financial Accuracy

. Ensure accurate mapping of indirect costs to appropriate CREST codes.
. Validate cost allocations and overhead absorption methodology.
. Ensure reporting accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
. Collaborate with R2R and accounting teams to maintain ledger integrity.

Business Case Analysis (BCA) & Investment Governance

. Support evaluation of overhead-related investment proposals and cost structures.
. Provide financial analysis for cost transformation initiatives.
. Conduct sensitivity analysis and ROI evaluation for indirect spend projects.
. Ensure financial prudence in approval of new indirect cost commitments.

AI-Enabled Cost Analytics & Digital Controlling

. Implement AI-driven dashboards for real-time monitoring of indirect cost trends.
. Use predictive analytics to forecast cost behaviour patterns.
. Drive automation of variance analysis and exception reporting.
. Introduce digital alerts for threshold breaches and abnormal spend patterns.

Cost Optimization & Efficiency Initiatives

. Partner with functional heads to identify sustainable cost optimization levers.
. Benchmark overhead ratios against industry standards and internal targets.
. Lead structured cost review forums with business stakeholders.
. Support EBITDA and margin improvement initiatives.

Financial Planning & Forecasting

. Support annual budgeting cycle for all indirect cost heads.
. Participate in rolling forecasts and mid-year reviews.
. Validate cost assumptions and challenge cost build-ups constructively.
. Ensure alignment between strategic plans and financial commitments.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

. Ensure internal control adherence across indirect cost approvals.
. Monitor policy compliance related to discretionary spending.
. Support internal and external audits on cost control mechanisms.
. Maintain documentation supporting financial governance standards.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

. Act as strategic finance partner to corporate function heads.
. Provide financial insights to Country Controlling and CFO office.
. Mentor junior controllers and build analytical capability within the team.
. Promote culture of accountability and cost ownership across functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

. Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory
. MBA (Finance) preferred

Experience:

. 14-18 years of progressive experience in Controlling, FP&A, or Corporate Finance.
. Experience in listed companies or large multi-location organizations preferred.
. Exposure to logistics, aviation, infrastructure, or high operational complexity industries preferred.
. Strong experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
. Experience with ERP systems and financial analytics platforms.
. Exposure to AI-enabled financial analytics and digital reporting tools preferred.
