Assistant Manager – HR Operations & Payroll

About the Role

Plasti Surge Industries Pvt. Ltd., a medical-disposables manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced HR professional to independently manage payroll and end-to-end HR operations at its manufacturing facility in Amravati.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in manufacturing HR, payroll processing, statutory compliance, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and HR-process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll and Statutory Compliance

• Independently process monthly payroll for workers and staff

• Validate attendance, overtime, leave, incentives, deductions and other payroll inputs

• Process full-and-final settlements and address employee payroll queries

• Reconcile payroll data before salary release

• Manage PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity, Labour Welfare Fund and other applicable statutory requirements

• Maintain registers, payroll records and audit-ready documentation

• Support statutory audits, labour inspections and compliance reviews

HR Operations and Employee Relations

• Manage the complete employee lifecycle, including onboarding, confirmation, transfer, documentation and exit formalities

• Maintain employee files, HR MIS, headcount, attrition and absenteeism reports

• Handle employee grievances, discipline and plant-level employee relations

• Coordinate contractor and manpower-agency documentation and compliance

• Work closely with production and departmental heads on workforce planning

Recruitment

• Manage the complete recruitment cycle, from manpower requisition to joining

• Prepare job descriptions and source, screen and coordinate suitable candidates

• Manage interviews, offers, documentation and onboarding

• Develop local sourcing channels for workers, operators, technicians and staff

• Track recruitment metrics, including time to fill and offer-to-joining ratio

Performance Management, Training and Engagement

• Coordinate KRA and KPI setting, reviews, appraisals and feedback

• Support increment, confirmation and promotion processes

• Identify training requirements and maintain the annual training calendar

• Coordinate induction, functional training and skill-development programmes

• Maintain training records and effectiveness documentation

• Plan employee-engagement, recognition and feedback initiatives

Process Improvement

• Develop, implement and periodically update HR and payroll SOPs

• Improve HR workflows through digitisation, automation and stronger controls

• Support Kaizen, 5S and other business-excellence initiatives

• Identify opportunities to improve workforce productivity, documentation and process efficiency

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Graduate degree with relevant HR experience; MBA or PGDM in Human Resources preferred

• 6–8 years of HR experience in a manufacturing company or plant

• Hands-on experience independently managing monthly payroll

• Working knowledge of applicable payroll and labour-law compliance

• Experience in end-to-end recruitment and employee lifecycle management

• Experience handling plant employees, workers and staff

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and payroll or HR software

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, Hindi and Marathi

• High accuracy, confidentiality, ownership and problem-solving ability

Preferred Experience

• Payroll responsibility for a workforce of 200 or more employees

• Experience with performance-management systems and KRA/KPI cycles

• Experience conducting employee-engagement and training programmes

• Exposure to statutory audits, contractor compliance and labour inspections

• Experience with HR digitisation, SOP development, Kaizen or 5S

• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

Location Eligibility

This role is exclusively for candidates from Amravati.

Applicants must be currently based in or permanently domiciled in Amravati and available to work full-time from the company's MIDC manufacturing facility.
