Manager Head Supply Chain and Commercial

Lead end-to-end Supply Chain Management operations ensuring customer commitments, engineering projects, and systems businesses are supported through timely procurement, reliable suppliers, accurate information, and strong commercial decision-making. Develop vendors as long-term strategic partners to improve competitiveness and execution reliability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Customer Focus

·      Define responsibilities, priorities, and service standards for SCM team members.

·      Coach, motivate, and address performance gaps through regular feedback.

·      Conduct daily exception reviews and weekly SCM performance reviews.

·      Assign ownership, actions, and closure timelines for material issues.

·      Build a solution-oriented culture focused on accountability and collaboration.

·      Ensure proactive communication with customers and internal stakeholders regarding commitments, delays, recovery plans, and escalations.

2. Import Purchase & Fulfilment Operations

·      Manage overseas supplier ordering, confirmations, expediting, freight, customs clearance coordination, and delivery planning.

·      Coordinate import documentation and payment requirements with Finance.

·      Lead order management from customer PO review through dispatch and invoicing.

·      Support collections follow-up with Sales and Finance.

·      Control overdue orders, shortages, inventory availability, and excess stock.

3. Local Purchase & Commercial Negotiation

·      Lead procurement for systems, manufacturing, assemblies, bought-out items, and services.

·      Align sourcing priorities with engineering and project schedules.

·      Personally handle critical negotiations involving:

o  Pricing

o  Credit terms

o  Advance payments

o  Delivery schedules

o  Freight

o  Warranty

o  Contractual terms

·      Establish rate agreements and drive measurable procurement savings.

4. Vendor Development & Process Discipline

·      Develop and qualify new and alternate vendors.

·      Maintain oversight on supplier qualification, capacity, performance, and risk.

·      Implement:

o  Vendor repository

o  Supplier scorecards

o  Approved vendor controls

o  Standard RFQ and evaluation processes

·      Define approval matrices, escalation triggers, and operating procedures.

·      Ensure ethical procurement practices and traceable approvals.

Candidate Profile

·      Diploma/Bachelor's in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

·      18+ years in industrial/engineering SCM.

·      Strong experience in:

o  Import Purchase

o  Local Purchase

o  Vendor Development

o  Customer Support / Order Management

o  Logistics

o  Project Coordination

·      Proven leadership in engineering supply chains covering procurement, order fulfilment, and vendor development.

·      Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving:

o  Total cost

o  Payment terms

o  Lead times

o  Supplier commitments

·      Excellent English communication skills.

·      Ability to resolve cross-functional issues and build scalable processes.
