Deloitte US-India Communications External Communications and PR Manager
Are you an external communications / PR professional who thinks strategically, builds relationships and ties PR efforts to business objectives and growth This external communications professional will help craft media relations strategy, planning and execution, with a focus on coordinating initiatives across various business and industry teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working to position leading organizations across key media channels, the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of a matrixed organization (including agency partners), and prior history driving innovation to support the future of external communications and PR.
The work you'll do:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to key stakeholders on external communications, aligned to key organizational priorities.
- Guide the development and implementation of integrated external communications strategies and oversee campaigns to advance Deloitte's marketplace presence.
- Help oversee end-to-end media relations programs, including partnering across teams to drive impactful results from conceptualization to execution.
- Direct market intelligence efforts to enable proactive engagement with key reporters and news outlets to elevate thought leadership and client impact stories.
- Ensure cross-team alignment on messaging, outreach, and metrics, establishing standards to amplify communications effectiveness.
- Mentor and develop communications talent, fostering innovation and continuous growth within the team.
- Collaborate with other leaders across executive communications and thought leadership content, including news releases, blogs, pitches, and interview preparation.
- Drive innovation initiatives across communications channels, integrating new platforms, analytics, and technologies.
- Establish and champion measurement frameworks and collaboration standards for continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Communications COE to pilot and scale advanced tools, such as AI platforms, for strategic communications applications.
Qualifications required:
- Graduate or post-graduate degree in public relations/ journalism/mass communication with a minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in PR and/or corporate communications.
- Strong executive communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with ability to synthesize complexity into clear narratives and advise senior stakeholders.
- Proven success in developing and executing external communications strategies and communications plans for a large B2B business, preferably in professional services
- Avid consumer of news and on the pulse of trends in PR
- Experience in developing and executing executive positioning programs, working with senior leaders, and collaborating across a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid priorities, gain consensus through influence, change course when warranted, and manage multiple and complex priorities efficiently and effectively
- Ability to successfully collaborate with team members and navigate a matrixed organization
- Ability to successfully engage and work closely with an external PR agency
- Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook and Word as well as Muck Rack, and other PR/comms tools; knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs
This role will be based out of Hyderabad/Bengaluru.
Work timings: 11 a.m. 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. 11 p.m. (IST)

We manage message development, thought leadership, crisis communications and speaking programs, to name a few.
