The Vendor Management Officer is responsible for managing key strategic third-party vendor partner relationships of the Bank throughout their life cycle thereby ensuring that the Bank maintains an effective Vendor Management Program in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. Responsible for the direct management of third-party relationships between key strategic vendors and business partners; understands the complete breadth of professional services and related risks provided by vendors and current support services for relevant technology teams.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to
- Oversee and ensure that the work outsourced and offshored at respective chapters / ODC location Chennai is delivered as per the contract commitment signed by partner and aligns with the overall objective of offshoring program
- Ensure that offshore is leveraged to provide increasing value to respective chapters
- Support the business in their governance and oversight of the supplier landscape at the designated ODC location
- Champion of adoption of the supplier operating model across all areas of chapters responsible
- Ensure vendor performance that aligns with the business requirements
- Vendor Service Levels Implement KPIs for all IT services outsourced and periodically monitoring the same Governance management to monitor and improve vendor performance,
- Assess quality of services on a regular basis and suggest necessary mitigation action
- Adherence to operational, financial, and contractual obligations
- Ensure optimum value delivery of IT services delivered in terms of offshoring and outsourcing outcomes from respective chapters and locations
- Manage relationship with respective business stakeholders
- Provide inputs to right sourcing strategy
- Work closely with resource management team on demand for respective chapters and locations and coordinate with vendor partner on demand management requests
- Ensuring effective communication, change management and adherence to guidelines by the bank, third-party related corporate policies
- Collated relevant reports from departments & vendors, as required to be presented in the governance forums
- Attend governance forums on behalf of VMO at various levels for vendor reviews

Prior Work Experience Required
10 to 15 years of IT disciplines in Vendor Management, Service Delivery Management, Program Management. Strong financial management experience
Offshore / Outsourcing experience
Main Tasks
- Manage Strategic Vendor Integration, vendor coordination, communication and control
- Communicate with the retained IT for performance evaluations - Obtain periodic vendor reports (on project status, compliance to SLAs etc.)
- Ensure compliance with the performance SLAs defined in the contract
- Work closely with resource management team for forecasting, planning and demand management processes
- Coordinate with retained IT to identify potential skill requirement.
- Identify and source the required skills; Aggregate and prioritize demand by working with vendor partner
- Establish Monthly and Quarterly Vendor review with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to access the performance and provide support / mitigation plan.
- Implement BCP across all Vendors testing the readiness through plan reviews & mock drills.
- Ensure clear and effective communication with all vendor partners
