Cairn Oil & Gas, a Vedanta Company, India's largest private oil and gas producer, is looking to hire a Manager Fire and Safety at our Suvali (Surat, Gujarat). The Incumbent will be responsible to lead fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and safety management at the West Coast Cairn Oil & Gas site, ensuring compliance with statutory norms and company standards. The role focuses on safeguarding personnel, assets, and environment through robust fire safety systems and emergency response strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Safety Management:

  • Develop and implement fire safety plans and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OISD, DGMS, and other statutory fire safety regulations.
  • Oversee installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, foam systems).

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Conduct fire drills, mock emergency exercises, and evacuation plans.
  • Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis for fire-related events.

Risk Assessment & Audits:

  • Perform fire risk assessments and hazard identification for coastal operations.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.

Training & Awareness:

  • Train employees and contractors on fire safety protocols and emergency response.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the site.

Coordination & Compliance:

  • Liaise with local fire authorities and statutory bodies.
  • Maintain records of fire safety equipment, drills, and compliance reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: B.Tech in Fire & Safety Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience:10+ years in Oil & Gas or heavy industry fire safety management.
  • Hands-on experience with coastal site fire safety systems and emergency planning.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in OISD standards, NFPA codes, and hazardous area safety.
  • Excellent leadership and crisis management skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • NEBOSH / NFPA Fire Safety Certifications
  • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)
