Location: Remote (India)
Role: Manager - Financial Modelling
Reports to: Managing Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive (depending on experience) plus performance-based bonus
Company Description
We are an international UK-based consultancy specialising in bespoke driver-based financial models, FP&A support, and model reviews for private equity-backed businesses. Our team works closely with clients to clarify business questions, design robust models that answer them, and deliver insights that drive decisions.
Role Description
As a Manager, you'll be an integral part of our delivery team - primarily responsible for:
- Designing and building driver-based financial models.
- Leading model reviews to ensure quality and accuracy, with a strong emphasis on self-checking and structural integrity.
- Managing recurring FP&A deliverables for multiple clients.
- Coaching and guiding execution team members to raise modelling standards and consistency.
- Contributing to process improvement, tooling, and modelling standards across our business.
This is a remote role based in India, focused on high-quality execution and internal project leadership. There will be opportunities for this to develop into a client-facing role.
Key Responsibilities
1) Modelling & Delivery
- Build robust, driver-based financial models from a given driver tree to client-ready standard.
- Critical thinking to ensure our models reflect commercial reality of our clients businesses.
- Use integrity checks and best practices of financial modelling to produce neat and effective tools, enhancing forecast accuracy.
- Develop clear documentation, assumptions tabs, and usage guidance for all models.
- Review work performed and ensure thorough self-review before escalation.
2) Model Review & Quality Assurance
- Lead on model review engagements to ensure that we review in a systematic and complete manner, raising issues where there are potential errors, queries or recommendations.
3) FP&A & Reporting
- Manage regular FP&A deliverables including monthly reporting packs, variance analyses, and Board reporting.
- Implement and maintain consistent quality checks, diagnostic flags, and sensitivity tools.
- Present insights and prepare narrative summaries for client use.
4) Team & Process
- Help coach, mentor, and upskill junior and mid-level team members in best modelling practices.
- Propose and implement process improvements, modelling standards, and reusable templates.
- Act as a subject-matter resource internally for modelling structure decisions and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
1) Technical & Professional
- Strong track record of building professional 3-statement driver-based models with integrated scenarios.
- Minimum 3+ years of direct financial modelling experience, including forecasting, model review, and FP&A deliverables. Overall professional services experience will be 5+ years.
- Advanced Excel skills (structuring financial models, clearly laying out assumptions, concise dashboards).
- Experience with modelling reviews and quality assurance.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA).
2) Behavioural & Work Style
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability, and a commercial mindset.
- Experience with self-review and quality control, reducing rework and eliminating repeated errors.
- Demonstrated proactivity - taking initiative and seeking improvements in models and processes without direction.
- Comfortable working independently with autonomy and flexible priorities without extensive supervision.
- A mindset of continuous learning and process improvement.
- Mentor and support junior staff's development.
- Looking for a career pathway to senior leadership in a growing international consultancy.
3) Who This Role Is Not For
- People who require frequent supervision or detailed task lists.
- Those who are uncomfortable reviewing work independently.
- Candidates who do not seek to improve processes or engage with feedback.
- Professionals who prefer purely technical processing, repetitive or narrowly scoped tasks, without a commercial thought process on our clients businesses.
