What you become a part of:

The successful candidate will spearhead the treasury function across Africa, India, and the UAE, ensuring optimal liquidity, investment returns, and strategic corporate finance management.

A proven track record in African markets is essential to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, banking ecosystems, and volatile currency environments.

What to expect:

  • Manage and drive liquidity and capital repatriation strategies specifically for African operations, effectively navigating local banks regulations and volatile currency landscapes.
  • Monitor the global group liquidity position on a daily basis, ensuring minimal non-earning cash is held while maintaining adequate operational reserves across all regions.
  • Execute investment strategies for surplus funds through low-risk instruments while retaining short term liquidity.
  • Serve as the primary lead for relationships with local banks and financial institutions/ consultants across Africa, India, and the UAE to negotiate credit lines and service terms.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated cash flow statements and multi-currency rolling forecasts for the entire group.
  • Implement hedging and treasury risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the group against currency fluctuations in emerging markets.
  • Enforce global treasury policies, signatory mandates, and statutory compliance across all international jurisdictions.

Essential qualifications & experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, professional Accounting Qualification (CA) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in Corporate Treasury with extensive hands-on experience to African markets being mandatory.
  • Proven experience managing multi-country treasury operations in a complex international business environment.

Desired skills & attributes:

  • Strong understanding of treasury operations, liquidity management, cash forecasting, and banking structures across multiple geographies.
  • Proven experience managing treasury activities in African markets, including exposure to exchange control regulations, currency volatility, and fund repatriation challenges.
  • Sound knowledge of foreign exchange risk management, hedging instruments, and multi-currency cash flow planning.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities, particularly in dealing with banks and financial institutions.
  • Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • High attention to detail, time management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing deliverables.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural and diverse teams.
