Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Engineering to lead Toolroom, CNC, VMC, Design Optimization and Engineering Operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing engineering activities related to mold designing and manufacturing, machining, assembly, maintenance, and process improvement.
The candidate should possess strong technical expertise in CNC and VMC machining, toolroom operations, engineering drawings, precision manufacturing, and mold development. The role also requires excellent leadership skills to manage engineering teams, improve productivity, ensure quality standards, and support new product development.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
1. Engineering & Toolroom Management
- Lead overall Toolroom and Engineering operations.
- Supervise mold manufacturing, assembly, fitting, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering projects.
- Optimize toolroom utilization and machine productivity.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
2. CNC & VMC Operations
- Supervise CNC and VMC machining activities.
- Ensure machined components meet engineering specifications.
- Optimize machining parameters to improve productivity.
- Reduce machining cycle time and improve machine utilization.
- Coordinate with programming and machining teams for process improvements.
3. Mold Development & Manufacturing
- Lead mold development for FRP, GFRP, SMC, and industrial products.
- Ensure precision assembly of mold plates, cores, cavities, guide systems, and ejector mechanisms.
- Review mold designs before manufacturing.
- Support mold trials and production validation.
- Improve mold life through preventive engineering practices.
4. Production & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Design, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
- Resolve engineering-related production issues.
- Ensure engineering support for new product development.
- Improve communication between engineering and manufacturing teams.
5. Quality & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Reduce rework and rejection through process optimization.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for engineering failures.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
6. Maintenance & Asset Management
- Plan preventive maintenance of CNC, VMC, and toolroom equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and downtime.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor Toolroom Engineers, CNC Operators, and Technicians.
- Allocate work based on project priorities.
- Conduct technical training and skill development programs.
- Monitor team performance and productivity.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain engineering documentation and technical records.
- Review SOPs, work instructions, and engineering standards.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems and safety regulations.
- Prepare engineering reports and management dashboards.
Requirements
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Engineering, Toolroom, CNC, and VMC Operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in FRP, GFRP, SMC, Plastic, or Industrial Mold Manufacturing preferred.
- Hands-on experience in mold development, machining, and precision engineering.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of CNC and VMC machining operations.
- Expertise in Toolroom Management.
- Knowledge of mold manufacturing and assembly.
- Ability to read engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of production planning and engineering processes.
- Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment management.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of quality control systems.
- Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software is preferred.

Benefits
Compensation & Benefits
CTC: ₹8,00,000 – ₹10,00,000 per annum (₹8–10 LPA)
Probation Period: 3–6 Months
